Last December 2nd, 2021, the U.S.’s Biden administration along with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) announced stricter testing requirements for all travelers entering the United States, including returning Americans, to curb the spread of the potentially dangerous omicron variant. Starting early next week the U.S.

To support the new testing requirement, travelers visiting Los Cabos will find COVID-19 testing widely available at all hotels, resorts, villas, timeshares, selected medical facilities, and at the airport for emergency situations. Los Cabos’ testing program provides a convenient, safe, and easy way for tourists to get tested within 1 day prior to their departure. Travelers returning to the U.S. are required to present:  

Foreign travelers to the U.S. will continue to be required to show proof of COVID-19 vaccination and proof of a negative COVID-19 test taken within 1 day of departure before boarding a U.S. bound airplane. 

Unvaccinated U.S. citizens returning to the U.S. from international destinations will continue to be required to show proof of a negative COVID-19 test taken within 1 day of departure before boarding a U.S. bound airplane.

Vaccinated U.S. citizens returning to the U.S. from international destinations will now be required to show proof of a negative COVID-19 test taken within 1 day of departure before boarding a U.S. bound airplane.

Important Facts to know:

  • Los Cabos is currently welcoming travelers following strict health and safety protocols.
  • Los Cabos is currently in stage 1 (green) of Baja California Sur’s color-coded classification system. 
  • Los Cabos has implemented a COVID-19 testing program to support visitors’ seamless navigation to comply with testing requirements for their return destination as needed. Antigen testing is available at all hotels, villas and timeshares, as well as the Los Cabos International Airport for emergency situations. The PCR test is administered at specific locations, including hospitals and laboratories.
  • The airport remains open to international and domestic flights. Flight activity is not restricted. Airlines currently flying between the US and Los Cabos include American, Alaska, Delta, Southwest and United among many others.
